“I believe that something beautiful can come from something as small and tiny as a dot.”

Much of my dedication to detail and achieving simple designs that tell a story can be attributed to the discipline of pointillism, through which I have produced multiple illustrations. Through black and white they paint colourful stories that drew inspiration from the whimsical, nature-filled world of fairy tales.

This commissioned piece incorporates sunflowers and koi fish based on my friend's prompt. Inspired by a Greek myth, it depicts Clytie, a water nymph who loved Apollo, the sun god. However, Apollo fell in love with another nymph named Leucothoe. In retaliation, Clytie informed Leucothoe's father, who then buried her alive. Enraged, Apollo transformed Clytie into a sunflower, forever gazing at him as the sun rises and sets.
